What is that charge on my credit card? ›

The easiest way to check your credit card's transaction history is by logging in to your online account through the issuer's website. This way, you will be able to see your past transactions, including the date each transaction took place, the name of the merchant that charged it and the amount.

In the context of credit card transactions, merchants are assigned unique identifiers, often in the form of codes, to streamline payment processing. The 402-935-7733 code specifically identifies PayPal as the payment processor for the transaction.

You may also see this phone number, which is a phone number associated with PayPal Customer Service, if the merchant you're shopping with uses PayPal as their credit card processor. Check your account statement with your most recent PayPal activity.

One way to check if a number is potentially a scam is to use a reverse phone number lookup service. These websites and apps allow you to enter a number and see public information associated with it, such as the registered name, location, and carrier.
