The Wilmington Emmaus Community is made up of a great number of willing and able Christians. Why not be a part of the body of Christ? Serving the community can be an exciting and rewarding experience.

Remember, Christ is counting on YOU!

Please don't wait to write your Agape to the Pilgrims! You know how important it was to you!
Deadline for Agape is posted for each walk on the "Walk" page.

An important reminder regarding Table Agape: According to the "Hand Book On Emmaus" on page # 60, "Table agape is an expression of unconditional love, therefore personal names are not attached, although Reunion Group or church names are acceptable." Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Hey! Agape is not just for walks! There are people in our community that always need agape.
What a great way to serve!

Our Community agape board people are:

Latasha Rudde
Andrew Ruddle

Please contact them if you have any questions or you would like to serve in this area.

Wilmington Gatherings

Gatherings are in Wilmington, Ohio at the Wilmington United Methodist Church on the second Tuesday of every month beginning at 7:00 p.m. Singing starts at 6:45 p.m. Fellowship time follows the gatherings, so you may want to bring a snack/covered dish (or two J) to share. Remember, when Emmaus meets, Emmaus eats! Childcare is provided during the gathering by the youth from the church and an adult overseer, but please pick up your child for the social time afterwards.

The next Gathering is Tuesday, March 13!
Men's Walk #66 Mini-Reunion at 6:00 p.m.
Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m.
Please bring finger food for social time.

*Childcare available.*

Candlelight services take place in the sanctuary of the church on the Saturday night of a Walk weekend beginning with singing at approximately 8:15 PM.  Enter through the kitchen or sanctuary doors and go to the sanctuary. Please wear your nametag, but please DO NOT wear your cross (the pilgrims haven't received theirs yet).  There is no social time after the service and NO CHILDCARE is provided during candlelight so please do not bring children to this service.

Our closing service for Walks are held in the sanctuary of the church at approximately 4:45 PM on the Sunday of the Walk weekend.  Don't forget to wear your nametag, your cross, and a big smile. Enter through the kitchen and gather in the dining room. Food will be provided by the kitchen BEFORE the closing service.  Childcare is provided during the actual closing service.

Note From The Chairman

Invite a friend to take an Emmaus Walk.

There is basically no waiting list to go on an Emmaus Walk. This is a blessing for all of us in the community.

Just 10+ years ago, unless you were a spouse or minister, the waiting list was 2-3 years to get scheduled on an Emmaus weekend!

The upcoming walks have numerous slots available for Pilgrims. If you have ever thought about sponsoring someone on a Walk, now is the time.

But, remember, Emmaus is not for everyone.

The Walk was designed to build and prepare leaders within the Christian church. It was not designed to fix broken marriages or to heal broken bodies or spirits.

If you have never sponsored anyone before and have concerns, call any of the board members. Weíll be glad to help you be an excellent sponsor.  Our sponsorship chairs are Ken Houghtaling and Kendra Young

God Bless you for doing His work.

Being a sponsor is a very important part of your fourth days
Please pray about whom you should sponsor first.
Get all the info on sponsoring -- Then go at it!
Be prepared to serve in a most awesome way!

If you need help or have questions, there are some board
members that can help you out with sponsoring a person.

Fourth Days

Are you in a share group?

If the answer is "No", the Women's and Men's Good Shepherd are here to help.  Please let us know you are looking.  If the answer is "Yes", we would also like to hear from you.  Following an Emmaus Walk, new members of the community are often looking for a share group.  Sometimes Community members who have been around awhile are also looking for one.  If you are in an active share group, you can help by contacting the Womenís or Men's Good Shepherd and let them know about your group.  We are in the process of compiling a database of active Share Groups.  The database will be used to help anyone who may be looking for a group, find one in their area.  We are looking for basic information; when and where you meet and the name and phone number of one member of the group who would serve as a point of contact.  We would love to hear from you.  The Womenís Good Shepherd is Rebecca Haines and the Menís Good Shepherd is Johnnie Wass.  Please contact either one with your groupís information or if you are in need of finding a group.
